German tax reform put on icePlans to reduce the German tax rate and broaden the tax base have come to a halt after the German government was unable to reach a compromise regarding the financing of the proposed tax cuts.
For the time-being the German tax rate remains 25% plus the solidarity surcharge and the municipal trade tax. After the elections that will be held this autumn new plans may be launched aiming to support the German economy. |
